 Our congregation is committed
to the support of various missions throughout our own community, across
the nation and abroad. Through financial support and "hands-on"
opportunities, members and friends of our congregation can make a
difference in the lives of people who are hurting or disadvantaged. This
is the love of God in action.
YEAR ROUND MISSION OUTREACH
The following is a list of
ongoing opportunities to support mission projects from your own home:
-
Consider recycling
your used eyeglasses. Your used eyeglasses help the poor in developing
countries. In these areas eye care is unaffordable or inaccessible and can make
a difference in another person’s life. A pair of eyeglasses will help an adult
to get or keep a job; a child in school to read their textbooks. 60 praise
of used glasses were donated last year. Praise the Lord! You
can place your used eyeglasses in the basket at the bulletin board in the
office hallway.
-
Collect Campbell labels and
boxtops to support the ministry of Henderson Settlement, a mission meeting
basic needs in Appalachia, Kentucky. Please place your labels and
box tops in the box located on the counter just inside the church office.
Not sure which labels or box tops to collect? Eligible product lists are
behind the collection box. Help yourself to a copy.
-
Soda top tabs are collected
to support the work of The Ronald McDonald House.
-
New cards and envelopes are
donated to local nursing homes.

Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church. Mission Central
developed as a center for mission education and outreach as well as a
staging area for disaster response. It offers air conditioned space for
training, offices, education displays and meetings. It also includes
warehouse space for medical supplies, equipment and emergency shelter
materials.
Mission Central is inviting
persons interested in making Mission Central a permanent local, national
and world wide ministry to join them as a "Friend in Mission" member of
their mission work family. Your donation of $60.00 per year ($5.00 per
month) will enroll you as a "Friend in Mission" member!
